Egyptian artist Alaa Abdel Khalek passed away after a long battle with illness at the age of 59. He began his artistic journey with the Friends Band in 1980 alongside singers Hanan and Mona Abdel Ghani. He released his first album in 1985, which was produced and distributed by singer Hamid Al Shaeri, who also collaborated with him on the song "Kabk Kon." Abdel Khalek had been absent from the artistic scene for a long period since 2002, when he released his last album titled "Ain Bi Ain." Alaa Abdel Khalek was born in Cairo on February 23, 1964, and graduated from the Institute of Arabic Music, specializing in playing the flute. He is considered one of the stars of the cassette era in the 1980s and 1990s.
