Heavy Rain Floods Libyan Capital

Heavy rains fell in various areas of the Libyan capital, Tripoli, just one day after a regional center warned of the effects of a Mediterranean storm moving toward Libya, which had already caused flooding in Turkey, Greece, and Bulgaria. The Arab Weather Center noted that the Mediterranean storm "Daniel" is moving with full force toward Libya from the central Mediterranean after acquiring tropical characteristics, due to the significant warmth of the Mediterranean Sea, which acts as fuel in such weather events to energize the system further, coinciding with the presence of a cold air mass in the upper atmospheric layers.
