Astronomically.. This is the Date of Eid al-Fitr

The National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research in Egypt reported that according to the astronomical calculations conducted by the Solar Research Center at the institute, the crescent of the month of Shawwal will be born immediately after the conjunction at 6:14 AM local Cairo time on Thursday, the 29th of Ramadan 1444 AH, corresponding to 20/4/2023 (the day of sighting). The head of the institute, Gad El-Qadi, stated that "the new crescent will remain in the sky of Mecca for 23 minutes, and in Cairo for 27 minutes after sunset on that day (the day of sighting). In the provinces of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the new crescent will remain in the sky for periods ranging between 24 to 29 minutes." El-Qadi added, "As for the capitals and cities of the Arab and Islamic world, the new crescent will remain after sunset that day for periods ranging from 10 to 35 minutes," according to what was published on the official Facebook page of the institute. Therefore, the beginning of the month of Shawwal 1444 AH will be astronomically on Friday, 21/4/2023 (Eid al-Fitr), and Eid al-Fitr will be on Friday, April 21, 2023.
