A maintenance engineer died as a result of an accident at a KFC restaurant in Baghdad. A police officer stated that the Lebanese engineer, "Ahmad Riyad, 28 years old, died while performing maintenance work inside the restaurant in Jadriya in central Baghdad." The officer, who requested to remain anonymous, added that "the elevator dropped on the engineer from the third floor, and attempts to control it were unsuccessful, leading to his immediate death due to the impact."
