Saudi Cabinet Looks Forward to a New Phase with Iran

The Saudi Cabinet, during its weekly session held at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah, expressed its eagerness to initiate a new phase of relations based on mutual interests and respect with Iran, particularly following the steps taken toward implementing the agreement to restore diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran; this includes the two countries' ambassadors commencing their duties. During the session, chaired by King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Cabinet was briefed on the contents of a phone call received by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman from the British Prime Minister, during which aspects of joint cooperation and perspectives on developments in the regional and international arenas were discussed.
