A young man and woman in their twenties were killed, and three others were injured in a shooting late Saturday night in the coastal city of Marseille, southern France. The city's prosecutor, Nicolas Bisson, stated that "the five individuals were in their car in a parking lot at a McDonald's when a vehicle approached them. The driver and the front-seat passenger were killed by gunfire from a Kalashnikov rifle." Two men and a woman in the back seat were injured, with two of them in critical condition, according to prosecutors. The three men have criminal records indicating their involvement in drug trafficking and violence in the area around the southern city of Toulon, according to Bisson, while the woman has no criminal record.
