US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller stated on Monday that US Special Envoy David Satterfield continues to negotiate with Israel, Egypt, and the United Nations to establish a "sustainable delivery mechanism" for bringing aid into Gaza, after aid convoys began crossing into the territory from Egypt earlier this week. Satterfield took on his role following the October 7 attacks carried out by Hamas in southern Israel. The special envoy is also working to ensure that American citizens and other foreign nationals stranded in Gaza can exit through the Rafah border crossing.
