Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati met with UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi in New York during the sessions of the United Nations General Assembly. They discussed the ongoing cooperation between Lebanon and the organization regarding the Syrian displacement crisis. The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Abdullah Bou Habib and the Chargé d'Affaires of Lebanon's mission to the United Nations Jean Mourad.
Additionally, FIFA President Gianni Infantino mentioned after meeting with Mikati that "through the 'FIFA Forward' program, we have always worked with the Lebanese Football Association to enhance infrastructure and increase the popularity of our sport in Lebanon, and we will continue to work in this direction."
