Shukri Reiterates Egypt's Rejection of Palestinian Displacement from Washington

Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid stated that Minister Sameh Shukri emphasized during his current visit to the United States the priority of achieving an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, providing protection for Palestinian civilians, and ensuring regular access to humanitarian aid. Abu Zeid mentioned in a statement that Shukri also reaffirmed his country's stance "rejecting all forms of forced displacement or resettlement of Palestinian refugees and displaced persons outside their territories." He expressed Egypt's hope for adherence to the opposition voiced by the U.S. administration regarding these ideas. The spokesman noted that Shukri began his visit with meetings with leaders of the U.S. Senate.
