Arrests Made by the Army After Gunfire Incident

The Army Command – Directorate of Guidance announced that following the incident that occurred in the Al-Jnah - Bir Hassan area, which involved an exchange of gunfire on March 6, 2023, a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate arrested a citizen (A.D.) on March 8, 2023, for his participation in the incident and for firing weapons and throwing RPG shells. The patrol also raided the homes of several wanted individuals and seized light and medium weaponry along with a quantity of ammunition. Additionally, another patrol arrested a citizen (H.Z.) for having multiple arrest warrants against him related to gunfire offenses and creating disturbances that resulted in injuries to individuals. The statement indicated that the seized items were handed over, and investigations with the arrested individuals began under the supervision of the competent judiciary, with ongoing efforts to arrest the remaining involved parties.

Minister of Public Works and Transport Ali Hamieh commented on the incident, emphasizing that airport security is a priority.
