Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expressed his sympathy for Erik Ten Hag, the team's current coach in the English Premier League, who is facing significant pressure due to the modest start of the new season. In an interview with The Athletic, Solskjaer noted that "coaching United is a huge challenge given the automatic comparisons with the legend Sir Alex Ferguson." He said, "I know what he is going through. It's a dream position, but a tough job," and added, "You deal with people with all their problems and backgrounds, not with a computer simulation, but most of the team consists of good professional players who have a desire to perform well."
Solskjaer pointed out that "United is currently struggling to recruit exceptional players" and confirmed that the team has not succeeded in convincing players like Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane, and Declan Rice to join. The Norwegian coach stated, "Expectations are very high, but we cannot live in the same era we played in. We faced competition from Arsenal and Chelsea in the end. Now there are many teams with money, and even if they don't have it, they don't need to sell."
