NATO's Assistant Secretary General: Assistance to Ukraine Has Become Difficult

David van Wiele, NATO's Assistant Secretary General, confirmed that the longer the fighting in Ukraine continues, the harder it becomes for alliance countries to continue providing assistance to Kyiv. This statement was made during an interview with the Japanese newspaper "Asahi," where he noted, "Ukraine is fighting for its freedom, but at the same time for us. If the fatigue from assistance begins, it will be a blow to international security. The longer the war lasts, the more difficult it is to provide help."

Van Wiele pointed out that "the situation for Ukrainian fighters is much harder than it is for us, as we are only assisting with weapons and money. Therefore, it is essential to continue providing support, and not to stop it under any circumstances." He added that NATO countries are generally providing "sufficient assistance to Ukraine."
