German Chancellor Olaf Scholz urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to improve the humanitarian situation for residents of the Gaza Strip during a phone conversation between them on Saturday. Scholz told Netanyahu that a ceasefire for humanitarian reasons could significantly enhance the access to supplies for the population.
