Title: Italian Embassy Settles Bill for Tourists in Albania

The Italian embassy in Albania paid a restaurant bill that was left unpaid by Italian tourists in the city of Berat, following the personal intervention of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The embassy confirmed that it settled a bill of 80 euros that had not been paid by a group of four Italian tourists. It stated, "Based on Meloni's recommendations, we paid this bill that was left unpaid by a group of Italian tourists." It added, "Italians respect the rules and pay their debts, and we hope this type of incident will not be repeated."

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama noted that he spoke to Meloni, who visited his country last week for a holiday, about the group of Italian tourists who disappeared without paying their restaurant bill in the city. In an interview with the Italian daily "La Stampa," Rama said: "Meloni ordered the ambassador to go and pay the bill for these fools, please, and issue a statement! Italy cannot be discredited in this way!"
