Indian authorities concluded rescue operations today, Sunday, following a train collision. Preliminary indications suggest that a signal failure caused the incident that resulted in the deaths of at least 275 people. Pradeep Jena, an official from Odisha state in eastern India, stated, “The death toll from the collision that occurred on Friday, previously reported as 288, has been revised down as some bodies were counted twice,” confirming that "the rescue operation has now been completed." The Odisha government reported that over 900 individuals have been discharged from hospitals, while 260 are still receiving medical care, one of whom is in critical condition.
