Iranian authorities reported today, Friday, that "around a thousand people have been affected in the last three days due to a severe dust storm in the Sistan and Baluchestan province in the southeastern part of the country." The IRNA agency quoted the head of the emergency care department, Mohammad Khalili, stating that "as a result of a new wave of the storm in five areas, Zabol, Zahak, Hamun, Kheirabad, and Nimroz, out of 998 people who sought medical assistance, 51 have been hospitalized, while 947 received treatment at outpatient clinics." Furthermore, the head of the meteorological service in the Sistan and Baluchestan region, Mohsen Heydari, noted that "the highest wind speed recorded in the city of Zabol was 104 kilometers per hour, and in the city of Zahak, it was 85 kilometers per hour."
