The official account of the Tunisian presidency on "Facebook" reported that President Kais Saied, on Monday, directed Foreign Minister Nabil Ammar to begin procedures to appoint a new ambassador to the Syrian capital, Damascus. Saied, during his meeting with Prime Minister Najla Bouden, indicated that he had issued instructions to initiate the process for the appointment of the ambassador. He warned that any disturbance to civil peace in Tunisia is unacceptable, considering that certain parties are attempting to create crises in the country by promoting the notion that there is a vacancy in leadership. He added, "The president was absent for two days, and they started talking about the necessity for the army to take power... There is a state and law, and the courts must address the call for a coup against authority." He expressed hope for overcoming the water crisis, stressing the need to establish a "water policy in the future, so that we do not find ourselves in such a situation again."
