The Progressive Socialist Party affirmed in a statement its support for the movement of the Syrian people in Sweida province, who demand a minimum of justice, a decent living, and their natural rights. This comes in rejection of the humiliation and starvation policies practiced by the Syrian regime against the Syrian people in all regions and provinces, after years of killing and displacement.
The Progressive Party reiterated the importance of implementing relevant international resolutions, especially Resolution 2254, to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis. It praised the statement of Sheikh of the Druze community in Syria, Sheikh Hikmat Salman al-Hajri, and the various national positions expressing the legitimacy of the demands of the people in Sweida province. The party emphasized the constant need to strengthen national cohesion among all components of the Syrian people, who suffer the same injustice and share the same demands across all Syrian regions.
