U.S. Welcomes Saudi Arabia's Invitation to Houthis for Talks

The U.S. State Department welcomed on Friday Saudi Arabia's invitation for a delegation from the Yemeni Houthi group to hold talks in Riyadh, calling it "an important step towards peace that expands a series of exchanges between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis." It noted that "the talks in Riyadh come following a visit by senior U.S. officials to Saudi Arabia, Oman, and the UAE last week to consult with regional partners and Yemeni parties regarding a practical path toward peace."
