American businessman Elon Musk revealed on Twitter that he has donated $100 million to Ukraine. Musk's statement was a response to a tweet from American author Stephen King, who urged Musk to verify the account of the Prytula charitable fund supporting Ukraine, saying: "I think Mr. Musk should give my blue check to charity. I recommend the Prytula Foundation, which provides lifesaving services in Ukraine. It's only $8, so perhaps Mr. Musk could add a bit more."
Musk replied, saying: "I’ve donated $100M to Ukraine, how much have you donated? (We turned down the DoD money btw)."
Musk had previously set an $8 monthly subscription fee to retain the blue checkmark on Twitter and noted earlier that his companies would be in a good position in 2023, despite potential economic difficulties, after hinting at the possibility of Twitter's bankruptcy. As a result of this change, many users on Twitter lost the verification mark on their pages, including model Kim Kardashian, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Pope Francis, and others.
