Kuwait Airways appointed its former CEO, Ahmad Al-Khreibani, as the acting CEO just hours after the position became vacant following the resignation of Maan Razouqi. The state-owned company stated in a press release on Tuesday that its board of directors decided to "task Captain Ahmad Al-Khreibani with carrying out the responsibilities of the company's CEO."
The appointed acting CEO had previously held the same position and resigned nearly ten years ago following a crisis regarding a deal to purchase used "Airbus" planes from an Indian company. An informed source within the company and a document reviewed by Reuters indicated on Monday that the CEO Maan Razouqi resigned due to disagreements with the new chairman regarding the "principles of governance."
