Daniel led in the second set, going up 3-0, showcasing powerful shots from the baseline. However, Alcaraz made several errors, costing him the second set. The Spaniard refocused, breaking his opponent's serve early in the third set and clinching it after dropping just one game.
Alcaraz then closed out the match on his serve and set up a third-round meeting with Canadian Denis Shapovalov, the tournament's 26th seed.
