A joint statement was issued at the conclusion of the visit of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman to Qatar on Tuesday, coinciding with the seventh meeting of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council. The joint statement emphasized enhancing security cooperation to support regional stability, and stressed the importance of continued political collaboration on regional and international issues. It reaffirmed the commitment to earnestly expand bilateral cooperation to achieve future development for the two countries, highlighting the enhancement of economic partnerships to diversify and increase trade volume.
The statement called for an end to Israeli violations and the cessation of the forced displacement of Palestinians, emphasizing the need to intensify efforts for a comprehensive settlement based on the two-state solution principle. Regarding the Syrian issue, the statement underscored the importance of finding a just and comprehensive solution to the Syrian crisis. On the Iranian issue, it urged Tehran to fully cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
The statement reiterated the importance of both parties in the Sudan conflict adhering to a ceasefire, as well as the full support of Saudi Arabia and Qatar for UN and regional efforts to reach a comprehensive political solution in Yemen. On the international front, the Saudi-Qatari statement highlighted the importance of resolving differences between Russia and Ukraine through peaceful means. It also mentioned the signing of agreements and memorandums of understanding in the fields of central banking, youth, and sports between Saudi Arabia and Qatar, as well as the establishment of a strategic partnership between the Saudi Ministry of Media and Qatar Media Corporation.
