Warner Bros. Discovery announced that it will launch its long-awaited new streaming service, named "Max," on May 23. The service will combine entertainment programs from HBO Max with reality shows from Discovery. It aims to expand its reach beyond fans of HBO's famous and exciting shows by integrating reality and children’s programming. The service will produce prominent works, such as a new series based on J.K. Rowling's beloved Harry Potter novels and another inspired by the world of the famous show "Game of Thrones."
The subscription price for the Max service will be approximately $9.99 per month for the ad-supported version and up to $19.99 per month for the ad-free "Max Ultimate" service. The platform will include content from HBO, such as the Emmy-winning series "Succession" and the successful show based on the video game "The Last of Us." It will also stream several new works, including the series "The Penguin" featuring the villain from the Batman universe. Warner Bros. Discovery has set a subscriber goal of 130 million by 2025, which is significantly lower than Netflix's 231 million subscribers.
