A massive fire has destroyed the largest mosque in the city of Eskilstuna, Sweden, less than three hours after it broke out. The police have opened an investigation into the arson, according to "Russia Today."
The grand mosque in Eskilstuna burned completely, and the fire department was unable to save the building. Thick smoke continues to rise from the site. A mosque official stated that the fire was caused by an attack on worshippers, highlighting that the mosque had previously received threats and reports had been filed with the police.
Firefighters failed to save the main building and are still working to control the fire and prevent it from damaging two adjacent buildings. A police spokesperson confirmed that it is still too early to discuss the causes of the fire, pending investigation results.
