Zahle Electricity Announces Temporary Continuation of Current Operating Contract

The Zahle Electricity Company announced that it has "officially received a request from the Electricité du Liban to temporarily maintain the current operating contract, which was set to expire at midnight today, 8/3/2023, until the completion of the public bidding procedures launched by the Public Procurement Authority on 7/3/2023, based on the opinion of the Legislative and Consultative Authority in this regard. Accordingly, the company will continue to provide the same customary services and expresses its gratitude to all those who contributed to the existence of this legal solution that spared our region from potential crises."

In a statement, the company thanked the Ministry of Energy and Water, as well as the management and staff of Electricité du Liban, for all "the efforts made to increase electricity supply hours given the current situation in the country, noting that the success of the emergency plan requires the concerted efforts of all stakeholders involved in this matter, as it is the cornerstone for the recovery of this vital sector."
