Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed today that his country is ready to be part of NATO and that Kyiv is waiting for the military alliance to be prepared to welcome it. He also reiterated Ukraine's desire to join the European Union upon arriving in Moldova to attend the "European Political Community" summit at a castle approximately 20 kilometers from Ukrainian territory, which gathers over 40 European leaders.
The summit is expected to demonstrate support for both Ukraine and Moldova at a time when Kyiv is preparing to launch a counter-offensive against Russian forces. Zelensky, alongside Moldova's President Maia Sandu, stated: "We support Moldova and its people in their integration with the European Union. You supported our people and our refugees who fled in the early days of the war, and we will never forget that." He emphasized that "Our future is in the European Union. Ukraine is also ready to join NATO."
