Tragic Death of Newlyweds in Turkey's Floods

A Turkish couple, who had been married for three months, lost their lives due to floods that swept through several Turkish cities following heavy rains this week. The story of the death of Dr. Salman Bagishlar and his wife Mehri Baan, who worked together in a hospital in Istanbul, drew significant sympathy, especially since they had just celebrated their wedding three months ago. They were on their annual vacation in Antalya when they perished while trying to exit the area in their bus, as reported by Turkish media. Communication was lost with the victims before their bodies were discovered, but they had informed their families in their final moments before drowning that they might not survive the raging waters, according to Turkish news outlets, which also published photos from their wedding that took place at the hospital where they worked.
