Title: Following the Amman Statement.. Has the Pursuit of Smugglers Begun?

Activists from the "Syrian Observatory for Human Rights" reported today, Monday, that armed clashes occurred inside and on the outskirts of the village of Naoura in western Homs, near the Syrian-Lebanese border, between several villagers and elements of the checkpoints belonging to the Fourth Division's Security Office in the Syrian army, resulting in several injuries on both sides.

The Jordanian armed forces thwarted an attempt to infiltrate and smuggle quantities of narcotics coming from Syrian territory, leading to the death of one smuggler and the escape of others into deeper Syrian territory.

According to the source, after intensifying search and inspection operations in the area, 133,000 Captagon pills, a type of AK-47 firearm, and quantities of ammunition were found, and the confiscated items were referred to the relevant authorities.

The source emphasized that the Jordanian armed forces are determined to deal with attempts of infiltration and smuggling with strength and firmness, as well as any threats to the border interfaces and any efforts aimed at undermining the security of the nation and terrorizing its citizens, thereby destabilizing its security and stability.
