The Russian Defense Ministry stated today, Tuesday, that "remnants of units, accused of launching an attack on the Belgorod region of Russia after crossing the border from Ukraine yesterday, were forced to return to Ukrainian territory." It added in a daily briefing that "more than 70 attackers were killed." Reuters was unable to verify the report. Additionally, Russian media reported today, citing former President Dmitry Medvedev, that "the greater the destructive power of the weapons Ukraine receives from its Western supporters, the greater the risk of a nuclear end for the world." Medvedev, who currently serves as Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, noted that "Kyiv's denial of involvement in the armed incursion into the Russian Belgorod region is mere lies."
