Juventus, competing in the Italian Serie A, announced on Tuesday the extension of Nicolò Fagioli's contract until June 2028, despite the Italian Football Federation's decision to suspend the midfielder for seven months after he violated betting rules. Fagioli's previous contract, signed in August 2022, was set to run until 2026. Juventus stated in a release that "the relationship continues with Nicolò after he joined Juventus in 2015 at the age of 14, progressing through all youth levels until his first-team debut in 2021." Sandro Tonali, current Newcastle player and former AC Milan player, was also suspended for 10 months for similar charges in the same case.
