Juventus Begins Withdrawal Procedures from European Super League

Italian Serie A club Juventus announced on Thursday that it has "started the procedures for withdrawing from the European Super League project." The club stated that it has "begun discussions with Real Madrid and Barcelona regarding the withdrawal from the project." The two Spanish clubs remain committed to the initiative. The club mentioned that "the withdrawal will not be completed and will only take effect with the approval of Real Madrid and Barcelona." Former Juventus president Andrea Agnelli, a supporter of the project, has been suspended for 16 months from any activities related to the sport due to allegations concerning player payments. Agnelli and the entire board of the club resigned in November of last year.
