Lebanon's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Abdullah Bouhabib, continued his meetings in New York today, where he met with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to explain Lebanon's position regarding the upcoming draft on the renewal of UNIFIL's mandate. Minister Bouhabib also met with the permanent representatives of Ghana, Gabon, and Mozambique as non-permanent members of the Security Council, with an African Union representative present, to discuss the issue of UNIFIL's renewal. This was followed by a meeting between the Lebanese Foreign Minister and the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief, Martin Griffiths, to discuss the issue of Syrian displacement in light of recent developments.
