UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stated today, Sunday, that the attacks carried out by the Palestinian Hamas movement on Israel do not justify collective punishment of the Palestinians. Guterres added in an interview with CNN, "You cannot use the horrific things that Hamas did as a reason for collective punishment of the Palestinian people," noting that 101 UN staff members have lost their lives so far in the war between Hamas and Israel.
