The International Football Federation (FIFA) stated today, Monday, that "its disciplinary committee has punished Luis Rubiales, the former president of the Spanish Football Federation, with a three-year suspension, thus prohibiting him from engaging in any activities related to the popular game during this period." FIFA added: "This case is related to the events that took place during the final match of the Women’s World Cup on August 20, 2023, for which Mr. Rubiales was initially suspended for 90 days."
