Meloni: Europe Must Not Weaken Its Support for Ukraine Amid Solidarity with Israel

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated today, Wednesday, that Europe should not allow a decrease in its joint support for Ukraine amid solidarity with Israel following the attack carried out by the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) earlier this month. Meloni said in front of the Senate ahead of a meeting of European Union leaders, "We must not make the mistake of weakening our joint support for Ukraine." She also indicated that "Italy wants the bloc to increase the funds available to address mass illegal immigration in the budget for the period from 2021 to 2027, as Rome is facing an increase in the number of migrant boats arriving on its southern shores."
