What is Bou Saab Doing in New York?

Deputy George Akeiss expressed cautious optimism about the ability to elect a president on the scheduled constitutional date, linked to the nearing agreement on the demarcation, especially since Deputy Speaker Elias Bou Saab was urgently summoned to New York to discuss developments in this file. Speaking about a potential governmental breakthrough, he mentioned the idea of replicating the current government with a ministerial statement. Akeiss, in an interview with "Voice of Lebanon" radio, noted that the change MPs confirmed they have not yet reached the stage of names, pointing out that "the name of Deputy Niama Afram is on the table, but we are still in the process of consultation with our allies and other opposition blocs to reach a name that intersects with everyone's interests." Regarding the budget, Akeiss stated, "We need more seriousness from the government and a budget that is not fictitious, reflecting a clear vision for exiting the crisis." On the opinion poll that placed deputy Gibran Bassil at the top of the list, Akeiss remarked that this polling cannot be relied upon.
