Labor Union President Raises Concerns

The President of the General Labor Union, Bishara Al-Asmar, warned about "the preparations taking place in dark corners to eliminate the clearance certificate in the National Social Security Fund, as these machinations will expose the fund to absolute harm." He added, "This will lead to non-payment of contributions and evasion of penalties by employers, which will significantly disrupt the financial balance of the fund." Al-Asmar pointed out that "the fund is currently suffering from the difficult economic reality the country is experiencing and does not need the accumulation of more problems and disasters produced by sick minds wishing to undermine the principle of social solidarity and push towards the inevitability of insurance companies." He concluded by stating, "The Union will be a fierce defender, as always, in protecting the fund, which, despite everything happening, remains a guarantee for more than a third of the Lebanese population."
