Prince William undertook an unannounced visit to Poland on Wednesday to inspect the British and Polish troops involved in supporting Ukraine, before meeting with refugees who fled the conflict with Russia to hear their experiences. The prince's office stated that the heir to the throne traveled to Rzeszów in southeastern Poland, where he is scheduled to meet with Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak and speak to members of the Polish defense forces and stationed British troops. The British deployment in Poland is part of NATO's strengthening presence in the region following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The visit of the British heir, which was not previously announced, is taking place under tight security, but a spokesperson said the prince was very eager to carry it out and that he requested the visit. After the military meetings, the Prince of Wales is set to travel to Warsaw to visit an administrative building that has been converted into a center housing about 300 women and children who fled the war in Ukraine.
