The head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, Mohammad Eslami, stated on Sunday that Iran's uranium enrichment is ongoing based on the framework established by the Iranian parliament. This came in response to reports about Tehran slowing its uranium enrichment to a purity level of 60 percent. Eslami added, "Our nuclear enrichment continues based on the law of the strategic framework," referring to the relevant legislation. Earlier this month, The Wall Street Journal reported that Iran had significantly slowed its pace of enriching uranium close to weapon-grade levels and reduced some of its stockpiles, steps that could help ease tensions with the United States and revive broader discussions about Iran's nuclear activities.
