Today, Tuesday, the caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati received the president of Al-Najma Club, Mazen Zaeni, at the governmental Serail, alongside a delegation, to discuss the first team's victory in the Lebanon Cup football championship.
Zaeni announced after the meeting, "We briefed Mikati on the club's victory in the Lebanon Cup for the second consecutive season, congratulated him on this win, and asked him to keep encouraging good work in sports as it sends a message of love to the youth athletes in Lebanon." He also mentioned the AFC Cup, in which their club will participate alongside Al-Ahed, as both clubs will host their rival teams in home and away matches.
He pointed out that Mikati was very responsive and promised us good news regarding the city sports facilities, whether it be the city sports stadium, the martyr President Rafik Hariri Stadium in Sidon, or any other stadium.
Zaeni added that "the international matches that will take place in Lebanon against rival teams within the Asian championship are important for the country, as they contribute to boosting tourism. Therefore, it is essential to rehabilitate, renovate, and maintain the available Lebanese stadiums that meet international standards."
