Emirates Airline: Requests More Aircraft

Emirates Airline President Tim Clark indicated today, Tuesday, that "the company may request more Airbus A350 and Boeing 777X or 787 aircraft to meet demand," stating, "All I can say is that we are looking to purchase a number of additional aircraft." In a speech in Istanbul, Clark mentioned that "confidence perhaps has increased slightly" in Boeing's ability to launch new aircraft, adding that he expects to receive the first aircraft in the fourth quarter of 2025. He noted, "Demand for our services still exceeds our ability to reach appropriate capacity," pointing out that "the results for the first two months of this year have already surpassed what we recorded last year." Clark also highlighted progress in a long-stalled project to expand Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai, paving the way for Emirates Airline to relocate its operations, stating, "I believe the government is quite close to making a decision very soon." He clarified that Emirates Airline prefers to complete the project by 2032 or 2033, "therefore ten years from now, essentially."
