WHO: Limited Options for Evacuating Al-Shifa Hospital

Rick Brennan, the director of the Emergency Program at the World Health Organization, indicated on Thursday that "the United Nations is seeking ways to evacuate Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, but options are limited due to security and logistical constraints." He added that "one of the obstacles is that the Palestinian Red Crescent lacks sufficient fuel to operate ambulances in Gaza for patient evacuations." Rick Brennan also stated that "Egypt is open to allowing Egyptian ambulances to cross into Gaza to help evacuate people as long as security guarantees and safe passage can be provided."
