The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated today, Friday, that Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, who also serves as Minister of Foreign Affairs, is visiting Ukraine. The ministry stated that he will meet with Ukrainian Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Denys Shmyhal to discuss several important issues. The Qatari Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky later today.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, after talks with the Qatari Prime Minister, noted that the Gulf state will provide humanitarian aid worth $100 million to support health, education, and mine clearance in Ukraine. He added that they discussed a peace formula for Ukraine, which consists of a ten-point plan calling for nuclear safety, energy and food security, border restoration, among other points. Shmyhal thanked Qatar for allocating scholarships for Ukrainian students at its universities.
