Israeli Drone Strikes Kill Two Islamic Jihad Members in Rural Damascus

Two members of the Islamic Jihad movement were killed following an airstrike by an Israeli drone in the Beit Jin area of western rural Damascus, near the border with the occupied Golan. The explosion occurred in the town of Beit Jin, targeting Ali Akasha Abu Jrah and Zaher Al-Saadi Abu Alaa while they were on a motorcycle, resulting in their immediate death.

On the other hand, the Israeli army announced today that its tanks bombarded "two temporary facilities" used by the Syrian army in the Golan Heights region, violating the ceasefire agreement established in 1974. The statement indicated that "the strike was executed after Israeli Defense Force soldiers identified the buildings in the security zone yesterday." It added, "The Israeli army holds the Syrian regime responsible for all activities occurring within its territory and will not allow any attempts to violate Israeli sovereignty." Syria and Israel are officially at war, although the ceasefire agreement brokered by the United States in 1974 has largely kept the borders calm.
