According to information from the newspaper "Al-Akhbar," a third meeting took place between the head of the Free Patriotic Movement, Deputy Jibran Bassil, and the head of the Liaison and Coordination Unit in Hezbollah, Wafiq Safa, over the past weekend. Bassil handed the party a written document that includes his approach to establishing a financial trust fund, a model for expanded decentralization, in addition to other details concerning the formation of authority, government, and key positions.
In detail, the report mentions that discussions were resumed between the two sides after a two-week lull in consultations during the Ashura days. The Free Patriotic Movement presented its papers regarding the issues of administrative decentralization and the credit fund, along with its presidential paper as a proposal for a governance program. Hezbollah requested time to review the documents and formulate clarification questions before entering into discussions about the proposals within a committee that extends beyond the current communication framework between Bassil and Safa.
