The foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council discussed the developments in the occupied Palestinian territories during the extraordinary 43rd session held in the Sultanate of Oman. They addressed the escalation of violence and the random Israeli bombardment of residential areas in the Gaza Strip, which has resulted in the deaths and injuries of thousands of civilians, as well as the urgent and serious challenges facing the region as a result. The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman, Badr Al-Busaidi, who currently presides over the council, with the participation of the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jasem Al-Budaiwi. Omani President Sultan Haitham bin Tariq met with the foreign ministers, reviewing the ongoing developments in the region, particularly in Gaza and the broader Palestinian territories. Sultan Haitham emphasized the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts to halt the escalation, the use of force and violence, and to provide urgent protection for civilians and their humanitarian needs.
