The Turkish Center for Combating Disinformation denied reports indicating a loss of eight million tons of grain due to the explosion that shook the Derince port on Monday. The center stated that the silos in Derince have a capacity of 95,000 tons, with approximately 75,000 tons of grain stored in the silos where the explosion occurred. According to preliminary data, about 20 percent of the grain stored in those silos was damaged. The explosion happened on Monday in the grain loading area for ships at the Turkish Grain Board silos, causing damage to 13 out of 16 silos. At least 12 people were injured as a result of the incident.
