Bassil: The Entry of 109 Syrians from Cyprus Illegally is a Crime Against the Country

The head of the "Free Patriotic Movement," MP Gebran Bassil, posted on the platform "X": "109 Syrians entered Lebanon coming from Cyprus despite the disapproval of the Prime Minister’s office, the Foreign Ministry, the Interior Ministry, the Defense Ministry, and General Security. Can we know who authorized their entry? This is a question directed to the five aforementioned bodies! We are striving to return the displaced to Syria and are fighting Europe and the whole world for their return, yet there are those who audaciously make agreements with a European country to bring some of them back to Lebanon!!! No one should tell us that they were transferred to the Syrian borders, because we are well aware of the story of thousands of Syrians infiltrating Lebanon through illegal crossings, how they are returned to the borders by security forces, and then re-entered into the country by smuggling networks, and we hear a lot about the enormous sums and the racket involved. This is a crime against the country, and those responsible for it are guilty of jeopardizing the country's security."
