The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan announced that a group of individuals of Armenian descent attacked the Azerbaijani embassy building in the Lebanese capital, Beirut. The ministry clarified in a statement that "a group of about 50 people broke the fence surrounding the embassy's administrative building in Beirut and threw bottles containing paint and explosives at the building," confirming that "the attack did not result in any injuries to embassy staff."
The statement continued to highlight that "security forces arrived at the scene after the entity responsible for the protection of diplomatic missions was informed of the attack, but the instigators managed to escape from the area." It added that "a memorandum was submitted to the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to identify and arrest those responsible for this attack on the embassy."
The statement confirmed the increase of security measures at the embassy and the continuation of investigations regarding the attack.
